Ukraine occupies the southwestern portion of the Russian Simple (East European Simple). The country consists almost entirely of stage plains at a mean elevation of 574 toes (175 metres) above sea stage. Mountainous areas including the Ukrainian Carpathians and Crimean Mountains occur only over the c
